Set Apart Metal Works repairs buckets and attachments, rebuilds brackets, tabs, mounts and gussets, and reinforces the areas that keep failing, for contractors, farms, municipalities and property operators. Field repair is the default, because getting a machine to a shop is usually the most expensive part of the whole job.
Where a pin is seized or a cylinder will not come apart, controlled heat and the right approach often free it without damaging the bore — the diagnosis matters more than the heat.

Bucket cracks
Typically from the corners and the wear edge inward. The crack has to be chased to its actual end, not to where it is visible, or it walks straight back out of the repair.
Attachment tabs and mounts torn out
They take parent metal with them. Rebuilding the tab is half the job; spreading the load into sound plate is the other half.
Gussets and brackets
Cracked, missing or never adequate in the first place. Added or rebuilt where the loading actually concentrates.
Frames and access components
Steps, guards, handrails and covers that have been bent, torn or removed and never replaced.
Seized pins
Diagnosed before heat is applied, so the pin comes out and the bore does not go with it.

About Heavy Equipment Repair
Can you weld hardened wear steel?
It depends on the specific material and what the repair is for. Some wear plate takes a repair well with the right process and preheat, and some is better replaced. Tyler will tell you which one you are looking at.
Is a repaired bucket as strong as new?
A well-executed repair with proper reinforcement can put a bucket back into hard service, but it is a repair, not a remanufacture, and it will not be represented as engineered or certified unless that has actually been established for the job.
Can you come to the job site?
Yes — for equipment that is the normal way it happens. Moving a machine is usually the most expensive part of the repair.
Do you do preventative reinforcement?
Yes, and on machines that crack in the same place every season it is usually cheaper than the repair cycle. Reinforcing before it fails means the machine goes down on your schedule instead of the job’s.
