Sanitary stainless is a different discipline from structural welding, and most general mobile welders do not do it. The weld has to be clean on the inside as well as the outside, because anywhere product can sit is somewhere that has to be cleaned — and a rough, sugared or crevice-ridden internal weld is a contamination risk, not just an ugly one.
Set Apart Metal Works performs sanitary stainless TIG welding, food-grade process piping, line installation and modification, pipe fitting and tri-clamp ferrule work for breweries, distilleries, wineries, beverage producers, commercial kitchens and food-processing facilities across Middle Tennessee.
Fit-up is most of the work. Gaps, mismatch and poor preparation cannot be welded out of a sanitary joint — they end up on the inside where nobody can see them and everybody has to clean them.

Lines that no longer fit the process
Production layouts change, equipment moves, and the pipe run that was right two years ago now costs an hour a day. Rerouting and modifying an existing line is routine work.
Missing connection points
New equipment needs somewhere to connect. Tri-clamp ferrules fitted and welded into tanks and lines, with attention to internal finish.
Cracked and damaged stainless equipment
Tables, hoppers, guards, frames and fittings in working kitchens and plants — repaired and dressed back to a cleanable surface.
Joints that will not come clean
Crevices, mismatch and poor internal profile from an earlier repair. These usually need cutting out rather than adding to.

About Sanitary Stainless
Do you purge stainless welds?
Back purging is part of sanitary practice where the joint calls for it. What Set Apart Metal Works will not do is claim documented purge verification records or a named sanitary standard unless that has specifically been established and agreed for your project.
Can you work in a live production facility?
Yes, with the site’s own hot-work, isolation and sanitation procedures. Those are agreed before work starts — food-grade environments have rules that are not negotiable and should not be improvised on the day.
Are you certified for food-grade work?
Set Apart Metal Works does not currently advertise a welding certification, because a certification claim should name the certifying body, process, material and position. What is offered is demonstrated sanitary stainless capability — ask for examples of comparable work.
Can you add a ferrule to an existing tank?
Yes. That is common work. The considerations are tank material and thickness, access, what is on the other side, and whether the vessel can be taken out of service for the time it takes.
